Coopers birthday festivities 🥳
At first, we had the idea of going on a trip to Southern Utah, but then we decided we didn’t need to spend that much money for Cooper to be happy and if anything it would be more stressful for him. So it was a pretty low-key birthday, but it was still probably one of the best. The morning of his birthday we decorated everything in the house and then he was so excited when he woke up, he got to open the present from grandma and grandpa and it was a new puzzle.
Then we went in the car and got donuts and picked up my mom and went on a hike
It was so much fun and right up his alley! Everything we did that day and Sunday and part of Monday was all about what he would like and I think we knocked it out of the park. He seemed so happy. And we had amazing weather to do it in! And really all of us were really, really happy.
Since he liked doing the scavenger hunt so much on St. Patrick’s Day, I asked him if he wanted to do it again and he said yes, so Dallin made him a scavenger hunt to find another present after we got home
And he found it and it was dinosaur eggs and he loved it
After that, David and Sara and my mom came over and he got his birthday dinner and he requested Chick-fil-A. So we ate and staying and had cake and then did two more presents and he loved it.
I thought it was so cute that after we were done singing and after he blew out all the candles, he said thank you everyone! He is such a sweet kid. After every present he got he said thank you so much thank you so much tons of times and I love you and big hugs and everything. He is such a thankful, sweet kid.
McKinley had fun at the birthday party too, and I was impressed that she was such a good sport about him having all of the attention and all the presents and stuff because in the past that’s been hard for her at birthday parties. So I guess now she’s got the hang of it!
Sunday we went to the bike track and park and breakfast in Bluffdale. he ate too many pancakes and said "I feel ill." and at our astonished looks he said "that means sick." lol
then Monday we went to the big green and they helped each other and he faced his fears by climbing the big things
at the dr he did amazing for his well check! he followed all directions, was happy and helpful and he made the dr laugh so many times. it's amazing how well he's doing and how far he's come. I remember when they couldn't even get his height or weight at well checks lol and now he's chatting it up even tho he's never met them. "we gotta protect the cheetah population cuz they're endangered!"
The Ups and the Downs Lately
downs have been music class and dance class and potty training and big feelings lol I won't name names. but a lot of learning is happening!
there have been many wins! one was mckinley playing with neighbors while coop dug in the yard. happy and independent kids! ❤️
we discovered village baker. love it but I need to go on a diet so here I sit writing this while depressed and eating cucumber slices lol I miss you village baker
she is so cute and funny
big news around here! coop doesn't sleep wit h us anymore! he has done 7 nights without coming down at all all night long! and that hasn't happened in over a year! he does it by doing sleepovers with mckinley and its also helped her stay up there too without a doorknob cover
its so cute to watch them play. they def sleep less but worth it. so much progress and the sibling bond is amazing

she loves that they paint her nails and she gets to get a haircut like a grown kid and sit in an Elsa jeep and he loves that I let him watch diorama videos on my phone. they both did so well waiting patiently because the place was behind and they're so brave coop has come so far. I just hate how freaking expensive it is!
but that is a good problem to have. I remember thinking I guess he'll have a man bun because it's not worth it lol he is doing so so well I am so proud of him
let's end this with the cutest video ever. Apparently she knows the pledge! lol when I asked where she learned that she said, "school. and I learned all the letters. big AND small." with an eyebrow raise like she knows she's a big deal lol and who are we kidding I think she actually is!
