(The reason for the title is, that is the way the kids pronounce Hawaii, which I think is adorable.)
OK, there are so many pictures and videos that it’s gonna be impossible for me to organize it all in journal at all. But it was an amazing experience! We all have so much fun and the kids did so well! I was really impressed with their flexiBility, patience, and obedience. They overall had really positive attitudes and we’re so grateful for everything and they are both such sweet hearts. We have been screen free since mid March or so and aside from a movie with their grandparents and the plane to and from Hawaii we are still on track with that! And it’s been amazing! Dallin said that the highlight of the trip for him was watching Cooper learn that he can swim on his own. It was so cute, because before this he had a little bit of a fear of the water and he worked up enough confidence to be in his lifejacket floating around in the pool where he can’t touch and that was so cute because he was so excited and telling everyone look everyone, I’m floating look everyone I can swim by myself! And it was so cute. We went to the sea life park and we saw sea lions, dolphins, sharks, fish of all kinds and birds. We went on a pontoon boat to the sandbar and saw 30 turtles and a manta ray. We went to paradise Cove and we saw a crab and a turtle. We hiked, fed the fish, played in ko olina Bay and the pool at the Marriott resort there. Sara and David were so nice to watch the kids for us the two evenings and then we were able to play with them at the resort for those two days and it was so much fun! We went to the Polynesian cultural center one day and got to do some cool things there and again Sara and Dave were so nice to take the kids home for us so that we could watch the show in the evening. We did a little hike and went to the dole plantation, and the kids went to a park and we went to some really good restaurants. And of course we went to the beach across the street a lot and we got to have a family photo shoot wearing matching outfit, which was what I wanted. While we were there, we celebrated David’s birthday and Mother’s Day. And McKinley was wowed by Nona‘s art and it kind of inspired her to do more art. I thought it was so cute that when she saw all of her magnificent detailed artwork, she said wow Nonna is a hard worker lol way to go growth mindset!
